Brian Hess, Vice President
Named as one of DC's Top Lobbyists by either the National Institute of Lobbying and Ethics or The Hill every year since 2021, Brian specializes in state and federal legislative advocacy, manages digital communications strategies, and serves as the Executive Director of the non-profit group Sports Fans Coalition. Brian coordinates advocacy efforts for state and federal campaigns and has successfully advocated in more than a dozen state capitals across the country.
One of Brian’s signature achievements involved consumer protection in online sports betting. In the wake of a Supreme Court decision allowing states to legalize online sports betting, Brian convened a symposium at The George Washington University Law School culminating in a “Sports Bettors’ Bill of Rights” that Brian wrote. He then led successful efforts to enact all or part of the Bill of Rights in Virginia, Washington, D.C., and Maryland. Brian was also a driving force behind the passage of the Equal Pay for Team USA Act.
Brian has a Bachelor's from Virginia Tech in Resource Management where he concentrated in consumer studies. His research and work centered around consumer protection and education. He has also earned his master's in Communication from the University of Oklahoma. In his studies, his work centered around communication theories, applications with digital technology, and the political impact of those theories and applications.
